The resin supplier, Resinate, addresses food safety in their FAQs indicating their resins are safe for incidental contact with food. Although marijuana is not necessarily considered a food item, we still highly recommend placing a layer of waxed paper, parchment paper, or similar between the jar and its loose contents, or store in its original packaging inside the jar. For expected prolonged contact with the tray, the same is recommended. It will help to ensure your safety and prolong the life of the item.
The resin supplier also provides information on heat resistance in their FAQs, indicating resistance to dry heat in the temperature range of +110º C (+230º F). I have personally witnessed repeated use of a similar ashtray crafted from the same resin which is holding up well with little to no visible marks to the interior or exterior of the item.
Finished products have a hardness level of 81 out of 100 and are scratch resistant under normal use and care.
Hand wash with warm water and mild dish detergent. Pat dry or air dry and wipe away any water spots with clean, soft cloth.
Not suitable for oven, microwave, or dishwasher. Store away from any direct heat source.
To ‘charge’ for glow-in-the-dark, expose the item to a direct light source (lamp, sunlight, etc.) for 2 – 6 hours.
